The end of the beginning or,...

The beginning of the end? The truth is that they're one in the same.

Much time has passed since I last posted, and the world is irrevocably changed. This is one of those sweeping statements that seems full of gravitas and foreboding, but is really meaningless. It's always the case, even if I posted the words on some random Tuesday in June. Something is always starting and beginning, but when someone says that phrase, it means the one saying them just noticed, or is trying to start a conversation without opening with: "So, Trump is president." I fully count myself in the latter camp.

I can't really get into the vagaries of what Trump's presidency means, represents, or will mean for the country. I'm neither smart enough to know offhand, nor motivated enough to deliver a cogent theory. I do know that the great unwashed of America finally used its power at the ballot box. At minimum there were enough people sick of the Clintons that we must all take a risk on an unknown while killing off a political dynasty for good (we hope...). Personally, I hated both of them. With that, I'll say no more on the topic unless it affects me personally. The time for theoretical musings is over.
